History

The origins of Fleetwoodstock lie in various fund-raising band nights that have been held around Fleetwood over the past few years. Venues including The North Euston Hotel, Fleetwood Rugby Club, Fleetwood Football Club and Fleetwood Gasworkers' Club have previously been used but have now been outgrown due to the sheer number of bands who want to take part and the need to spread our wings.

We decided that, rather than have 2 or 3 band nights a year it would be more feasible to have 1 big event once a year.

Fleetwoodstock is a community event primarily for the benefit of the local community, who take part and attend. It is a great opportunity for performers to play at the biggest venue in the area (the Marine Hall) - something which would not normally be viable for any single local band.

We reserve the Saturday afternoon to give the opportunity to younger bands and performers to play on the stage, which again would not normally be possible for them.

Friday and Saturday evenings are our headline nights, and are the nights where we want to attract more nationally known bands.

Sunday is our local band day where upwards of 18 bands and solo artists appear throughout the day.

Fleetwoodstock has also attracted people from as far afield as Dover, Bristol, Bradford and even Italy and Bulgaria. We are truly an international event!!

Over the past 3 years Fleetwoodstock has raised money for local good causes and a list of benefactors is as follows :-
